Background:
Having only been discovered in 2018, Flower Agate has quickly grown in popularity. Found on the island of Madagascar, Flower Agate is a beautiful chalcedony stone that has white and pink colorations. The flowers seen within this stone are an opaque chalcedony inclusion within the translucent chalcedony rock. These chalcedony inclusions mimic flowers hence the name, Flower Agate. These “flowers” form in the rock at a central point and grow outwards in order to create its distinct look. Flower Agate can show up in an array of colors including brown, white, red, green and black. The colors depend on the incisions present within the chalcedony.
