My favorite crystal, Polychrome Jasper!

As the Polychrome Queen, I am so excited to be able to write about my favorite crystal that has recently gained popularity on TikTok.

A little background into Polychrome!

This crystal was first discovered in Madagascar in 2008 while miners were looking for more deposits of Ocean Jasper. The discovery of Polychrome happened by total accident, but I'm not complaining. Polychrome is also known as Desert Jasper and this name comes from the desert like colors that are commonly seen on Polychrome. This mineral forms in huge deposits and are carved out in boulder shapes. Even though this is a somewhat recent find, this crystal has gained lots of popularity and the award for being my favorite crystal.

Some Geology facts!

This might come as a shock but, this "jasper" stone is actually a quartz! Polychrome Jasper is a type of chalcedony stone which is actually just quartz. The chalcedony mineral is a type of silica that is a form of quartz in microcrystalline form. Quartz is the overarching term for a silicon dioxide mineral (SiO2). This crystal also sits at a 7 on the MOHS hardness scale. Every crystal has its trade names, but I think the geology of these minerals is fascinating.

Metaphysical properties!

Polychrome Jasper, but Jasper in general, is known as the supreme nurturer. This stone is good for clearing blockages, transformation, stability, balance and creating a sense of wholeness and self-peace. This crystal is also a really good grounding stone. Polychrome resonates with the element of fire and is good for the Leo sign.
